Deputy US Marshal arrested for peeping in Bismarck Target dressing rooms with cell phone

Bismarck Police say a 29-year-old man was arrested for laying his cell phone in a Target dressing room with a female inside.

The U.S. Marshals Service has announced that Michael Rivera is a deputy with their department.

Rivera had his initial appearance in court yesterday for promoting a sexual performance by a minor and criminal attempt.

Police report that surveillance footage showed Rivera entering a nearby dressing room just after the victim entered.

The victim told authorities on June 14 that while trying on a bathing suit, she noticed the phone on the floor under her dressing room. The phone was taken by someone just before she exited.

Rivera is being held on a $2,000 bond and can have no contact with the victim or Target.

The U.S. Marshals Service says they are working with the Bismarck Police to investigate the incident.
