BISMARCK, N.D. - The Bismarck Police Chief was honored for his service Tuesday by the Abused Adult Resource Center.

Dan Donlin received the 23rd Annual "Love Without Fear" Award.

AARC leaders say Donlin has made a difference when it comes to dealing with domestic violence.

They say he provides victims with the best community response.

"I chose to wear the uniform for this event just as a reminder it is the officers and the detectives that are out in the field every day that really deserve this award, that should be thanked for what they do - to run into these very dangerous and emotional situations just to ensure the safety of the people in our community," says Donlin.

Donlin has been the police chief for four years.
