BISMARCK, N.D. - Bismarck Mayor Mike Seminary is addressing the petition that's going around to have him recalled.
At a coffee with the mayor event Friday morning, Seminary says he was the first and only leader to ask protesters to leave, and he has always supported law enforcement.
Some people who oppose Seminary came to hear what he had to say.
"I was the first and only public leader to ask them to leave. The uninvited guests, I asked them to leave. Spokesperson then said I turned my back on law enforcement. Don't go there," said Seminary.
"I believe that he has misplaced some leadership priorities. I believe he has misplaced mostly the public trust, because he has to realize that he is the leader of the City of Bismarck, and he has to treat the office with impartiality," says Bret Weiland, Bismarck resident.
The Secretary of State's Office says 1,898 signatures are needed to force a new election.
