Bismarck Larks mascot name announced

The Bismarck Larks announced the winner of the "name the mascot" contest live during the KFYR-TV 6:00-sports.

Larks General Manager John Bollinger brought out "Clark the Lark" for the first time in front of a good gathering of baseball fans in the Capital-City.

Clark has a little local history behind it, as in Lewis & Clark, which is why it wearing a coonskin hat.

Jack Morris was also on hand to meet & greet Twins fans. His son played in the Northwoods League so he's familiar with the level of baseball coming to Bismarck.

Morris is best known in "Twins Territory" for winning Game-7 of the '91 World Series, "I still get to live it which is ironic," Morris explained, "I mean it's a lifetime later. There's a whole generation of kids now that are baseball fans that weren't even born yet it's been that far back but what I tell all the current players is win baby win because you'll never realize how much attention you'll get for the rest of your life just by showing up and winning peole love you forever and I'm living proof of that."

The Minnesota Twins open the season on Monday against Kansas City at Target Field.

The Larks first game is May-30th in Bismarck against Eau Claire.
