Bismarck Airport open, despite winter weather

BISMARCK, N.D. - The Minot Airport may be closed Tuesday because of the weather, but the Bismarck Airport is not.

Bismarck Airport Manager Greg Haug says crews have been working around the clock clearing the runway and making sure taxi ways and aprons are clear for planes to land and park up in.

Haug also says they haven't seen many cancellations and only a few delays.

"Our maintenance and operations guys are right on top of this stuff. They're watching the weather, they're watching the conditions of the runway and the air field, and they get out and start blowing, brooming and de-icing and doing whatever we can to keep the airport open," says Haug.

The main delays and cancellations were flights coming from Minneapolis, which only had one runway open.
