Bighorn hunting licenses reduced for 2018 season in N.D.

BISMARCK, N.D. - The Game and Fish Department gave out five bighorn sheep licenses for this year's hunting season, three fewer than in 2016.

The number of once-in-a-lifetime licenses allotted is based on data collected from the recently completed summer population survey.

There are 83 rams, 21 fewer than 2016.

Biologists attributed the decline to an ongoing bacterial pneumonia outbreak.
