Berry Acres to open Saturday

It's almost time for families to celebrate the fall season with their annual visit to Minot's pumpkin patch.

Berry Acres will open for its fall season this coming weekend, but preparing for pumpkin time doesn't happen overnight.

Owner, Calvin Berry says that it is a year round project.

The fall tradition began in 2010 to bring families together.

He says, "It just seems like there isn't a whole lot for the younger kids to do in the community so that's why we added it. Just for a fall thing, to get families out and about."
And anyone can join in the fun.

This year, Berry Acres offers its eight acre corn maze, pumpkin picking, hay rides, mini golf and much more, but visitors can expect a change in this years pumpkin launch.

Berry says, "We do have a new pumpkin launcher this year, the way that we're launching them. We also have a lot more to do with the bales for kids to use."
This year's corn maze logo is one that many will be familiar with.

"We did the Minot High Magician logo, we have a company that comes in out of Missouri and cuts it. It's an eight acre one. It can take anywhere from twenty minutes to an hour.. depending on how fast you can get through it" said Berry.
