DICKINSON, N.D. - Dickinson Public Schools will turn Berg, a former 6th grade school, into a new K-5 elementary school.
The sixth grade students that would have been in Berg this year are at Dickinson Middle School. The district also purchased land in case they need another building. Superintendent Douglas Sullivan says re-purposing Berg will take pressure off of other schools.
“We continue to see the local hospital set records every year for live births. With our student populations continuing to increase in K5, classrooms are needed as we continue to move forward,” said Sullivan.
Since 2009 when Sullivan took over, the K-5 population has increased more than 50 percent.
