BSC record-breaking open house

BISMARCK, N.D. - Students in the Bismarck-Mandan area had school off Friday for a teacher conference and some are being productive with their time away from the classroom.

Bismarck State College administration say they have an incredible campus and tons to offer. Sometimes people don't realize BSC is more than just a community college.

“It's a lot bigger than I thought, it's a lot nicer than I thought and there's a lot more to offer than I realized,” said Jared Kaseman, a future BSC Mystic.

BSC saw record numbers at the fall open house this year, with more than 300 students and parents in attendance.

“We have tours set up to go out and hopefully they leave here with no questions and they want to go to BSC and have applied and get all that done,” said Kasey Janz, admissions specialist.

“I hope that students come in here and look around and say, ‘Yes by golly Bismarck State is the place to start my career,’ whatever that is,” said BSC president Dr. Larry Skogen.

BSC has nearly 50 career and technical programs in high demand fields and more than 20 four year degree programs right on campus.

Students who are still looking to attend a larger university, and might not want to spend the money that comes with all four years are in luck. BSC has partnerships with several North Dakotan universities. To see these opportunities, check out their website https://bismarckstate.edu/
