MINOT, N.D. – The attorney representing Jeremy Maines, the man accused of robbing a bank in Stanley at gunpoint in April, has asked to withdraw from the case.
Eric Baumann, the attorney representing the 43-year-old Maines, asked to withdraw citing a conflict, but state prosecutors reportedly disputed his attempt to withdraw from the case.
The courts will take the issue up at a later date.
Maines, a Seattle native, faces three sets of charges in two counties. Investigators say he robbed the Community Bank Center in Stanley and threatened to kill employees if they did not cooperate, and then led police on a chase into Ward County.
