25 competitors from around the area raced down hill at Huff Hills, but they weren't skiing or snowboarding.
The Snowflakes to Sprockets race at Huff Hills has become an annual tradition at the local ski resort. Riders race down on fat-tire bikes. reaching speeds in the area of 40 mph. Riders compete for only bragging rights, but have a blast doing it.
"We try to promote winter sports in general, and now that the fat-tire biking has become a popular sport around here. We wanted to introduce fat-tire biking here at the ski area, so we've been running the
Snowflakes to Sprockets event as just one more way to come out and enjoy winter," said Andrew Beck, the Mountain Operations Manager at Huff Hills.
