BISMARCK, N.D. - The 90th Annual North Dakota Farmers Union Convention is going on this weekend at the Bismarck Event Center.
It's a gathering of insurance companies, restaurants and farmers.
Mark Watne, President of the North Dakota Farmers Union, spoke Friday to share his thoughts on what he thinks needs to be considered to support family-farm agriculture.
“Well, we are having a great time. People are coming in, we had a little weather concerns, but they are coming in, and we've started the convention with a big bang. We are initiating a lot of ideas about how Farmers Union supports the family and how we are going to work hard to maintain family-farm agriculture,” says Watne.
The Farmers Union Convention goes until Sunday. There are a lot of events taking place throughout the weekend, and the convention is open to the public.
