UPDATE: Name released in Williston construction death

WILLISTON, N.D. - UPDATE: 2/23 3:39 p.m. The name has been released of the man who was killed in a construction accident Wednesday morning.

The Williston Police Department says 69-year-old Melvin Lyons was hit by a gravel truck shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday.

He was taken to CHI St. Alexius Health in Williston where he died of his injuries a short time later.

At this time, the department does not expect criminal charges to be filed, but an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

ORIGINAL STORY: A 69-year-old man died in an accident at a construction site Wednesday morning in Williston.

The Williston Police Department says they received a call just before 9 a.m. for an accident.

It was near the Life Church Assembly in Williston. A gravel truck hit a construction worker, causing injuries.

He was taken to the Mercy Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The incident is still under investigation.
