$27 million headed to Minot Air Force Base for indoor firing range

MINOT, N.D. – The federal government has set aside $27 million in next year’s budget for construction of an indoor firing range at Minot Air Force Base.

The money will be included in the 2018 Military Construction Appropriations bill.

The bill also includes a provision that directs the Air Force to create a timeline for upgrading intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) infrastructure and weapons storage at the base.

Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., who is a member of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriation Committee, helped push for the improvements to Minot Air Force Base.
