AMIDON, N.D. - UPDATE: 1/23 5:16 p.m. Two people were killed in a collision with a fracking truck in McKenzie County Sunday night.
The Highway Patrol says 23-year-old Morgan Foote of Parshall and 19-year-old Samantha Hurkes of New Town ran a stop sign on County Road 14 east of Watford City and ran into the truck.
Both of them were thrown out of their pickup and died at the scene.
The truck driver, 36-year-old Justin Dhamers of Amidon, was airlifted to Trinity Hospital in Minot, and is expected to recover.
ORIGINAL STORY: Two people were killed over the weekend east of Watford City, N.D, after running into a frac tank that was being pulled by a semi.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a man and woman were driving south in a pickup on McKenzie County Road 14 when they ran a stop sign and drove into the oncoming semi.
Both people in the pickup were thrown out and died on scene.
The driver of the semi, 36-year-old Justin Dhamers of Amidon, N.D., was airlifted to Minot for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
