MINOT, N.D. - A judge has ordered a man to serve 15 years in prison for opening fire in a Minot trailer court in January.
Thirty-year-old James Blue II entered Alford pleas Friday to a series of felony charges, including attempted murder.
The hearing almost did not happen after the judge had to suspend the proceedings because Blue would not cooperate.
The judge met with council in chambers before going on with the plea change hearing.
Police say that Blue fired rounds into a North Minot trailer court, and at one point fired in the direction of officers.
The judge sentenced Blue to 20 years, with five suspended, followed by five years of supervised probation.
Blue told the judge he would not follow his probation rules.
