BISMARCK, N.D. - Traffic on I-94 is open in both directions after six months of construction and traffic. Crews began pulling cones off the west bound Grant Marsh Bridge at around 4:45 pm and both lanes were open by five o'clock. All lanes are open west bound and as of 6:30 p.m. the only portion still in single lane was east bound coming from Mandan until traffic reached the bridge. DOT officials were pleased the project was on time and on budget.
“We're just really happy that basically everything was on time. We estimated everything at the beginning of the project that everything would be done in late October early November, so we hit that mark pretty much exactly,” Said Amanda Godfread, I-94 Project Information Specialist.
The project cost $11.4 million with 90 percent of the funding coming from the federal government
