What do Bottineau ('06-'07}, Larimore('03-'04}, Beach('89-'90}, Hope('79-'80}, Gardner{'55-'56} and Wheatland{'51-'52} have in common? They have all won the Girls Class-B State Basketball Championship in back to back seasons.

Bottineau has a chance to make history in 2008! The Stars can become the first team to win three straight titles. In March of 2007, they bested New Salem 56-30 and I believe Bottineau has a stronger team this year.

The Stars still have all-stater Kayla Roemmich in the middle and Shaunna Knife transferred from Belcourt. Knife was All-WDA last year. They have depth and they have speed which is always an excellent combination.

Can Bottineau win another title? Yes.
Can Bottineau be upset along the way? Yes, that's what makes sports fun to watch and fun to televise.

NBC North Dakota Sports will provide live statewide coverage of the Girls Class-B State Tournament from Minot on February 28,29 and March 1.
