All college coaches will say they want to recruit local athletes first. That is sometimes easier said than done, but at Dickinson State a former Trinity standout is making his mark on the men`s basketball team. Robbie Morey was a two-time all-state performer for the Titans and he has become a big part of the Blue Hawks program.

"It`s awesome being able to grow up and watch Dickinson State and now that I`m actually getting a chance to play here in a place that I grew up watching. It`s just been a lot of fun," Morey said.

"I think Robbie Morey has done a tremendous job for us at point guard. He`s so smart. He`s a high IQ basketball guy, moves the ball well. He`s such a team player and does everything he can. Brock Boos has really come on after his knee injury last year that took him out after seven games and he really didn`t get a sophomore year," said coach Ty Orton.

Boos is another local athlete from Bowman County. The Blue Hawks have found out life in the Frontier Conference is not easy. The nine team league has four schools ranked or receiving votes in the latest national poll. The Dickinson Press says a number of the former "DAC" schools are considering forming a new conference.
