Number 1 vs. Number 3

Lee Timmerman | 1/15/2013

The premiere Class-B boys basketball match-up is the state tonight will be in Dickinson. Undefeated Trinity is hosting undefeated Beulah. The Miners are ranked number-1. The Titans are third behind North Star.

These team have a lot in common. They`re veteran teams that pride themselves on defense. The both have a balanced offense with a senior leading the way. Trevor Zacher for Beulah and Jacob Volk for Trinity.

"I played with him over the summer so I kind of got to know him a little bit. He`s a good player and he works hard and definitely the leader for Trinity. He`s going to do the majority of their scoring and we`re going to have to try and slow him down," said Zacher.

"It`s got to be a team game but Jacob is obviously our leader. He averaged about 18 point last year but we had 7 or 8 kids last year that are in the 6 to 8 point range which makes us hard to guard. People focus on jacob but he`s not our only scoring threat and I think that`s what`s going to make us hard to guard this year," said Trinity coach Gregg Grinsteinner.

The Titans and Miners are a combined 23-0 so far this season. Beulah represented Region-7 last year on its way to winning the state championship.
