The girls swimming state championship list is loaded with streaks. Minot had five in a row, then Mandan had four, back to Minot for six straight and now the last three state titles have been won by Century.

The Patriots had to rebuild after losing a lot of seniors from a year ago, so they do not necessarily feel like the favorites this weekend.

"Definitely the pressure but the fact that we scored out the sheet and right now we`re behind coming in as underdogs it gives us more of a release to kind of show everybody what we can do," said senior McKenzie Jeske.

"We are definitely ready to come in this weekend. We`re really excited because it`s here at home and we`re just hoping to show everybody what we have," said senior Veronica Herrmann.

The state meet is this Friday and Saturday at the Bismarck Aquatic Center.
