In each of the last two years DL-B`s playoff hopes have come down to the last game. And both times the Lakers finished just short of the postseason.
A ton of experience returning on the field has this year`s DL-B team thinking this is the time to get over the hump.
With 10 defensive starters back and nine seniors on the squad there`s an urgency to bring the best week in and week out.
"Last year we turned the ball over a lot. Especially early in the year," head coach James Johnson says. "That came back to bite us, so a big emphasis this year is on not turning the ball over and getting that positive turnover ratio."
"We missed it by a game the last two years, so we want some redemption," senior running back/defensive back Andrew Flick says. "Get back in the playoffs - play for a spot."
The Lakers will break in a new QB in Austin Schestler who worked a lot on arm strength in the offseason.
DL-B opens at home on August 24th against North Prairie.
