Marauders Cross Country | Video

The most successful fall sports team at the University of Mary is women`s cross country. The Marauders finished 5th in the nation last year and their top runners all return. The Agnew sisters and Dakota Wolf will be leading the way.

"They have that experience. They have that knowledge of the sport and obviously they have some ability genetically speaking, again we look forward to it and we have a lot of good opportunities with some of the meets we`re going to. We`re in a new region this year," said coach Dennis Newell.

Instead of being with the R-MAC which is mainly higher elevation teams in Colorado. The Marauders will run against teams from Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. The lower elevation is a plus.

"So from a regional standpoint, we`re probably in a better position which is going to help our chances to get back to nationals for our women and give our men some better opportunities to get there in the future," Newell said.

The regional is in Joplin, Missouri in November. The regular season schedule is highlighted by the Roy Griak in St.Paul next month.
