Aggies Hungry for State | Video

Jacob Kaucher | 8/11/2012

It`s been three years since the Velva Aggies entered football season without a state title to defend.

To put that in perspective, this year`s senior would have been freshmen back then.

If the Aggies want to get back to playing for a championship, they`ll have to develop some young talent quickly.

There aren`t many opening day starters returning from a year ago. And three of Velva`s first four games are against teams considered potential title contenders themselves in Bishop Ryan, Stanley, and Watford City.

"Right there, there`s huge challenges there," head coach Larry Sandy says. And we gotta survive through that as best we can. The big key is staying focused and just making progress through that time of play. Playing some good quality ball."

"We just need to be well-rounded," senior tight end Dixon Bauer says. We don`t have much depth right now. So we just got to piece evrything together and hopefully get a well rounded team."

The Aggies open up the season with an inter-class battle at home on August 24th against Bishop Ryan.
