Hornets Look to Reload | Video

Jacob Kaucher | 8/9/2012

We swing from the western edge of our area all the way down to the southeast where Harvey-Wells County has to reload after last year`s unbeaten regular season.

The Hornets return six starters on each side of the ball from a year ago when they were stunned in the first round of the playoffs.

But it`s who they lost that`s noticeable - a pair of Division I players in M.J. Stumpf and Tucker Nordby.

The need to fill that void and the way last season ended are big motivators for this year`s Hornets.

"If they don`t see what we`ve got going on here, that definitely pushes us to work harder," senior lineman Austan Schmidt says. "It`s kind of nice being the underdog, coming out, and playing hard. Just showing people what we got."

"We got a good group of seniors and a good group of juniors," head coach Brad Sandy says. "we just expect to have a good season and get after it."

The Hornets say they are confident in the arm of first-year starting QB Mark Nyhus.

They open at Rugby on Friday, August 24th.
