Improving our Communities | Video

It was a packed house for the St. Joseph`s Community Health Foundation`s Grant Award Ceremony. Community agencies from across the state are being awarded for their work.

“We give out our funds for organizations that benefit the mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing of the clients that they serve,” said Shelly Weppler, Executive Director of the St. Joseph’s Foundation.

“The St. Joseph`s Community Foundation, today, here. I can`t even count the number of people that are getting money, every grant is going to make something happen,” added Rich Berg, from the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, a recipient of a St. Joseph’s donation.

St. Joseph`s Foundation has given more than $400,000 to health and wellness organizations throughout 11 counties, many of which serve right here in Minot. The grants are all about improving communities.

“It`s all about quality of life. We are only as good as the person who needs the most. And if we can care for those people, and make sure everyone in our community has at least the basics, our community is much better off,” stated Weppler.

“All these agencies here, including Trinity Health, have a mission, to improve the lives in our communities, there`s no question about that. Without these kinds of donations, it makes it really tough for us to get the equipment, staff, and the programming our communities need,” added Randy Schwan, Vice President of Trinity Health, another recipient.

Each and every group knows it would be hard to achieve those needs without the help from the St. Joseph`s Foundation.

“As far as these ceremonies today, I think we need to be thankful for this foundation and take the time to be grateful for that, not just one day, but everyday”, said Berg.

Over the years, the St. Joseph`s Foundation has donated more than four million dollars to health and wellness organizations across the state.
