To keep the roadways safe and up to date, The North Dakota Department of Transportation is investing a lot of money into some new projects. The DOT is making some changes to Minot`s Burdick Expressway on 42nd Street to Highway 2. They plan to fix the pot holes and lay new pavement.

On the west 83 Bypass, they are going to repave and fix the shoulder along the road. And 11th Avenue SE to Highway 2 will also be receiving fresh new pavement.

With a total of $175,000 in improvements, the DOT said they are much needed.

"Some of them are actually overdue. But, there was no funding available until now. So, some of them should have been done awhile ago, but again without funding we had to wait," said Bob Allen, Assistant District Engineer.

The construction is expected to begin this summer.
