Concealed Weapon Instructor Has License Revoked | Video

Julie Leonardi | 3/11/2013

State Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has revoked the license of another concealed weapon instructor from North Dakota. Melvin Heilman, of Center, North Dakota is no longer licensed to conduct classes or training. The Bureau of Criminal Investigation received complaints that Heilman did not comply with state regulations.

The BCI discovered that Heilman had answers outlined in the manual and taught about Utah`s laws during the class. One local concealed weapons instructor said this class is too important for anyone to cut corners.

“The more people to have permits, the safer my community is. The safer my family is, the more educated those people are and the more they understand the law, the better off we`re all going to be,” said Dr. Jeremiah Glosenger.

Heilman is the fourth instructor to have his license revoked in the past two years.
