Clearing Minot’s Streets | Video

Rene Thibault | 3/5/2013

With a break in the snowfall, city snow plows were out in force today, working to clear the streets. Crews have been out since 2:30 Monday morning working on cleaning up the city`s roads. They hit the major snow routes like Broadway first, then fanned out to school areas and different hills around the city.

Today, six blades were out cleaning north and southwest Minot.

According to Street Superintendent Rick Hair, the wind was the worst part of this past winter storm. “What got us was the wind. We started at 2:30 in the morning, started the snow routes, most of them blew back in, or we continued to get snow. So we went back over them again. Did downtown last night, believe it or not, downtown blows in off the roof tops. So it was just a bad day for most of North Dakota from what I understand”.

With crews working around the clock, Hair hopes to have all of Minot`s streets cleaned up by Saturday morning.
