Minot Murderer Still on the Loose

| April 5th marks exactly one year since a North Dakota murderer escaped from a Louisiana prison. Escapee, Richard McNair, killed a truck driver in Minot 20 years ago. Mcnair`s escape from Louisiana was the third time he slipped through law enforcement. He is responsible for killing a grain truck driver in 1987. Ward County Sheriff Vern Erck worked a lot on his case when they discovered the murder that shocked the town. He says he has not given up and will not give up on this case...in fact, he says he called Louisiana authorities just today about McNair. Erck says McNair is very crafty and may be using different aliases. Erck says, "my best guess is that he is probably in the United States or Canada. However it wouldn`t surprise me if they caught him in China or Japan. It just would not surprise me. He`s just good at getting around and laying low." Erck says McNair is considered very dangerous and is probably armed. He says McNair has been known to change his appearance often, by changing his hair color, shaving or growing facial hair, and wearing glasses. |
