Fatal Crash NE of Williston

An Alamo, ND, man is dead after his car hit a semi northeast of Williston early this morning. The crash happened at the intersection of Williams County Road 9 and Highway 2, about 15 miles northeast of Williston, at 3:19 a.m.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Michael Esterby, 37, was travelling north on County Road 9 when he disregarded a stop sign at the intersection. He collided with a semi travelling east on Highway 2.

Esterby died from his injuries. The driver of the semi and his passenger were not injured.

The semi was hauling crude oil. The trailer was not damaged in the crash and no oil was spilled.
