If you could have a healthier heart just by switching up your diet...Would you do it?

According to a recent study by The New England Journal of Medicine, switching to a Mediterranean Diet can reduce your chance of heart disease.

This diet consists of fish, olive oil, nuts, beans, fruits and vegetables, and even a glass of wine with meals.

Overall, Trinity Health experts said by taking components of this Mediterranean Diet, it`s a good start to reduce heart related issues, but they would add one more food group to the list.

"One thing that we have available here is beef. And, what people need to get educated about is on the lean cuts of beef, like your [beef tender] loins, round, those can be heart healthy because of the makeup of the different fats in those cuts," said Michelle Fundingsland Dietician, Trinity Health.

This diet is supposed to help people who are already taking medications to reduce their chances of heart disease.
