Couples Renew Vows | Video

Love is a four letter word that means many different things to different people. For couples in Mandan, it symbolizes commitment. Eight couples renewed their wedding vows at Sanford Health Continuing Care Center.

Mary and Curtis Klein have been married for 20 years. In August of 1992, they decided to nix the traditional route, and instead went to Las Vegas to get married.

"It was kind of unique, because in a way, because they came to pick you up in a limo and they took you to the courthouse to get a marriage license and then they took you to the chapel to get married and then took you back to your motel," Curtis said.

Mary says she`s especially enjoyed their 20 years together because Curtis has been so supportive. "Very good. I`ve had a lot of downfalls with my health. But he`s been there for me through all the way."

The Kleins weren`t the only ones renewing their vows. Jack and Florence Schaaf were married in 1945.

"We had a big wedding. Big wedding. We had music and dinners and this and that," Jack said.

They have six children, eleven grandchildren and five great grand children.

"I like him. We do good together. So why look for something else," Florence said.

The couples toasted their love and shared the rest of the day together.

Following the vow renewal, the couples enjoyed live music later in the afternoon.
