Homeless Man Faces Burglary Charges

Retha Colclasure | 1/29/2013

A 22 year old homeless man faces burglary charges after a 34 year old woman said she woke up to find him standing over her, staring at her while she was asleep. It happened early Monday morning at a home on north 14th street. Police say the woman yelled and went to get her father, who then chased him out the front door.

Pedro Morales Jr then ran and hid behind a nearby home. Morales had several stolen cell phones with him, and an owner of one of the phones turned on the GPS locator. Police then found Morales, who tried to run inside the home where he was hiding.

The homeowner opened the door after hearing police, and grabbed Morales as he ran into him. Police caught and handcuffed him. Morales is being held on $5,000 bond.
