Minot Legislative Forum | Video

Rene Thibault | 1/26/2013

Minot residents had the chance to have their voices heard during the Magic City`s 2013 Saturday Legislative Forums. Close to 60 people attended the meeting at the State Fair Center. It was a chance for them to have one on one time with the area`s 12 legislators. Attendees asked questions about specific bills or topics that they were interested in or concerned about.

Today`s topics ranged from a reduction of income taxes to flood recovery. “There`s several bills in there for those victims of the flood. We`ve been able to help some with low and moderate income, but we need to find a bill that will help everyone that’s been damaged by this flood, and we`re finding now that there are some bills that our legislators have put in that are going to be very welcomed bills if we can get them passed. So that and long term flood control are the two items we`re really watching,” said Minot Mayor Curt Zimbelman.

Minot`s next legislative forum will be held Saturday, February 2, at 9:00 a.m. Visit www.legis.nd.gov to track and stay up to date on all the bills being discussed during the 2013 Legislative Session.
