Remembering Chester Reiten | Video

Sarahbeth Ackerman | 1/23/2013

Chester Reiten, a Minot businessman, politician and founder of the Norsk Host Fest, passed away yesterday at age 89. Chester`s son, David, said that whatever Chester was doing, whether that be building TV and radio stations, being the Mayor of Minot, or creating Norsk Host Fest, he always put everything into his work.

But, he never lost sight of what was truly important to him.

David says his father prided himself in his faith, wife, and children. "He would never do anything that would compromise those three principles. And, his family was always very appreciative of that. He always put his faith, his wife, and his family first. And, it showed and people appreciated that."

Chester Reiten was appreciated and honored throughout his life. He was given the Theodore Roosevelt Rough Rider Award, which is the state`s highest honor.
