When the temperatures get as low as they did today, it can take a toll on your car. “During the winter months when it`s nice and cold out, especially below zero all day long, the batteries take the brunt of our cold weather,” said Tires Plus Manager Sue Kaliher.

Tires Plus of Minot has been busy all day towing in cars that didn`t start this morning. More than fifteen batteries have been sold as well.

To make sure this doesn`t happen to you, take your car to an auto-body shop where they can test your battery for free. The battery can also die if it’s not charged enough. When you’re ready for work in the morning, let it run a little longer than usual.

And don’t forget about those tires! Cold weather can affect the air pressure. These chilling temperatures aren`t going anywhere, so make sure you`re prepared.
