Garage Fire | Video

Alex Hagan | 1/13/2013

Bismarck firefighters were called out today after a garage caught fire in downtown Bismarck. The fire was reported at approximately noon today at a home on the corner of 11th street and East Avenue B. When firefighters arrived on scene, the two car garage was fully engulfed in flames and heavy smoke. The garage was located near power lines and two cars were inside.

Firefighters stopped the blaze from spreading to any nearby homes, but they say the fire could`ve been much worse. "There was no buildings close by or exposure so really it was just a job of being aware of the hazards which was the power lines and the fuel in the vehicles and anything that was unknown in the garage and of course since it`s winter time and there`s slips and trips and falls because we just created a lot of ice," said Rick Graba from the Bismarck Fire Department.

Firefighters say the cause of the fire is still unknown
