Fire Damages Bismarck Home

No injuries were reported in a fire that damaged a mobile home in Bismarck this morning. Firefighters were called out to the 100 block of American Avenue shortly after 7:30 this morning. When they arrived, they encountered smoke coming from the front door and saw smoke and flames through a bedroom window. Crews were able to contain the blaze.

According to the department, a resident reportedly left the home briefly and discovered the fire when they returned. Nobody else was home at the time of the fire. No firefighters were injured. The preliminary loss estimate is $8,500.

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, the department says it appears to be accidental.
