School Boundaries Forum | Video

Kristin Clouston | 1/7/2013

The Bismarck School District wants to have its new boundaries set by the end of the month and is holding a public forum this week. The district sent letters and maps to parents so they could carefully review proposed boundaries before Thursday night`s meeting. After a brief explanation of the process, Boundary Committee and School Board members will be available to listen to input and record written comments, people will also be able to leave comments in a suggestion box.

"Right now there are more rumors than facts, but these facts will come if people take time to be educated and then they can have a chance to tell their opinion and weigh in on what the issues are and then the board listens to that and tries to articulate boundaries that work globally for kids in Bismarck public schools," said Superintendent Tamara Uselman.

Thursday`s forum is from 6:30 until 8:00 at Wachter. The school board will consider input from it next Monday, hold a second forum on the 24th and wants to make a final decision by the 28th.
