Fort Totten Man Sentenced for Assaulting a Federal Officer

A Fort Totten man will serve a little over two years in prison for assaulting a federal officer. Brandt Richard Yankton, a.k.a Brandt Richard Jetty, 24, was sentenced today to 27 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release.

Yankton pleaded guilty in August to biting the Bureau of Indian Affairs Chief of Police while being arrested for a traffic violation in April 2012.

In addition to jail time, Yankton will also have to pay a $100 assessment to the Crime Victim`s Fund.
