Dreams in Motion Sled Hockey Game | Video

Joel Porter | 12/30/2012

Young people with disabilities shared some time on the ice on Sunday evening. Dreams in Motion organized a sled hockey game at the ice arena in Mandan. Around 20 people with mobility challenges or visual impairments were strapped into sleds to skate back and forth in the friendly game.

A few volunteers from the Bismarck Bobcats were also at the arena to give the players a push.

"It`s a dream come true because he`s always wanted to be able to do something with somebody that`s just like him. And now, there`s a whole bunch of them just like him. And it doesn`t matter, they can be from two to 25 years of age to participate," mother Pam Berreth said. Berreth`s son, Hunter, has cerebral palsy.

Dreams in Motion gives young athletes a chance to try several sports for the first time, including basketball and curling.
