"For the whole three days we`re learning about the 50s, 60s and 70s then we`re doing tie-dye shirts," said Sady Nelson, 6.
They`re studying artists and designing projects based on the music from each decade.
"We did a Calder inspired poster, also did some abstract art with pastels and right now the kids are just finishing up record bowls. There were a lot of them that didn`t know what a record album was, so we thought we`d expose them to that," said instructor Nina Loeks.
Their teacher got the records at rummage sales, but says she`ll take yours too.
Gracie:Nina took the records and then she put them in the oven and then molded them into shape," said Gracie Pansegra, 9.
There are 17 students in the class, the youngest is only five, and kids say the teachers make it interesting for everyone.
"They`re really good teachers and they`re super nice and just do fun projects," said Andi Nelson, 7.
"We got to know 2 artists that are really good with us and they do really cool projects," said Jaida Delvo, 10.
"We`re going to be doing cardboard guitars. We`re going to making those," said Phalen O`Brien, 8.
They`ll also listen to funk, disco, and will rock the 80s with a crazy hair day. The kids are also going to use their guitars in a battle of the bands.
