It gets cold in North Dakota and many commercial businesses turn to a flameless heater to keep their buildings warm. MAC, Inc. has now made 500 of them in a little over 18 months. The Bismarck facility celebrated the production milestone last week. CEO Michael Seifert says the employees have played a big role in achieving that mark.

"The engineers here at MAC have designed what`s recognized now as the most efficient flameless heater globally with two patents. What you see here is a 550 BTU MAC flameless heater."

The company expanded the production facility to Bismarck in 2010, and now employs more than 50 people. They also have locations across the country and in Canada.

A Bismarck hospital is now working side by side with a hospital in Elgin. Jacobson Memorial Hospital Care Center entered into a management agreement with St. Alexius Medical Center. The care center says using the resources of St. Alexius will help provide high quality patient care for the people they serve.

And a new liquor store is open in the north part of Bismarck. Captain Jacks Liquor Land has opened a fourth location in addition to one in Mandan, and stores in north and south Bismarck. The roughly 10,000 square foot store is on West Turnpike Avenue, near Central Market. It`s been open for about two months.
