Christmas Light Show | Video

Rene Thibault | 12/25/2012

Holiday lights and songs are some of the most iconic Christmas traditions. One couple in Minot found a way to combine the two. Barry and Judy Olson have been creating Christmas light shows for seven years. Hundreds of people come to their home every December to see their light displays.

Through computer programming, their lights are synced to six different Christmas songs. All people have to do is tune their car radios to 94.1 to see the lights come to life. After seven years and 70,000 lights, the Olsons have a good handle on their project, but it still can be a challenge.

"Most of it we have down to a science, but certain things take a long time. Like the trees along the road, they`re just, unless a person owned a bucket-truck, they`re just a pain because every year it looks like they grow about three or four feet. So the ladder gets shorter and shorter, and the top gets taller and taller," Barry said.
