Six Appeal Visits Williston | Video

Chris Williams | 12/20/2012

Students at Williston High School got to miss class this afternoon, but they were still learning a little bit of history. An a capella group based out of St. Paul, called Six Appeal, visited the high school today. They travel around the country singing at different events, but one of their favorite things to do on tour is stop by local schools.

The group sang a few songs for students, gave them a history lesson of a capella music and demonstrated different styles of music. One of the group`s favorite part of their performance, was also a favorite among the students.

“When we teach students how to beat box. It`s a pretty prevalent thing that`s occurring, it`s growing. You can catch a million and one videos on YouTube. When we bring it into schools, that gets kids even more excited about what you can do with the human voice. We have rooms of students like 400 students beat boxing at the same time, it`s pretty cool,” said beat boxer Andrew Berkowitz.

Six Appeal will back at the high school tomorrow working with the choir.
