New Town Standoff Ends

The standoff in New Town, North Dakota is over. The FBI has confirmed that the suspect, Michael Jason Smith, 32, is in custody, after authorities used "non-lethal force" to get him out of the house where he was holed up shortly before 10:00 this morning. Smith was wanted on several outstanding warrants from Colorado, mainly dealing with narcotics violations.

Nobody was hurt in the incident. We`ll have a complete update for you beginning on First News at Five.
