School Reconstruction Update | Video

Minot Public School district is making a lot of progress in its rebuilding efforts. Four of its schools were damaged by the Mouse River Flood. Jim Hill Middle, Erik Ramstad Middle, Longfellow Elementary and Lewis and Clark Elementary are all on schedule to be completed this summer. Progress with the reconstruction is coming along quickly and students are expected to be in the new buildings by August 2013, in time for the new school year.

Brian Hook, Senior Project Manager for Kraus-Anderson said, “With the flood situation and the aggressive schedule, [the progress] it`s very exciting.”

“I`m at the projects every day, the change is unbelievable. We have a lot of activity going on and it`s an exciting time for Minot Public Schools as we look at continued growth and all of the activity that`s going on,” said superintendent Mark Voller.

The mild winter weather has helped speed along the construction.
