This year, they need more volunteers. It takes more than 2,000 volunteer hours to keep all eight locations open until December 24. With a goal of over $200,000 to be raised, finding volunteers is a priority.
“We`ve noticed that we don`t have as many folks signing up to volunteer on the kettles, which is what we really need,” said Tim Nauta, Captain of the Minot Salvation Army.
“It`s not that hard of a job. You just have to stand here and ring a bell. You can meet a lot of new people and learn other people`s stories. You feel good, and its just helping the community, to go out there and do good, is a great thing to do,” said volunteer Billie Bangen.
If you`d like to volunteer or make a donation, call the Salvation Army at 701-838-8925.
