Hope Village Receives $50,000 Donation | Video

Amy Fox | 11/30/2012

Hope Village gets a big boost for flood recovery efforts, thanks to a generous donor. The Minot Area Community Foundation awarded Hope Village a check for $50,000 today for its "50K in 30 days" campaign. All of the money will go to building supplies for the Recovery Warehouse to help flooded homeowners.

While many people are starting to move back into their homes, there`s still a big need in the community.

“Yes, there is still a lot to do,” said Minot Area Community Foundation President Ken Kitzman. “I think a lot of people think the flood is over and we`ve moved on as a community. But, understand there are still people out there that need help and that`s where these funds should go is to help those folks."

Hope Village Director Rev. Paul Krueger said, "We`re looking at, you know, $129,000 that came as the end result of a generous individual beginning this process, and we`re excited to put that to the very best use, to serve the people of Minot, and to help people begin again with their new lives.”

The Minot Area Community Foundation will continue to raise money to help support Minot flood victims in the rebuilding process.
